This 1 lb bundle of .045″ ER70S-2 TIG filler rod is ideal for welding mild steel and chrome moly tubing in thinner materials where precision and control matter. The ER70S-2 alloy supports stable arc behavior and smooth filler addition.
How To Select Filler Rod
The thickness of the metal being welded determines the optimal filler rod diameter:
- .045″ diameter filler rod for thin sheet metal
- 1/16″ diameter filler rod for metal up to 1/8″ thick
- 3/32″ diameter filler rod for metals thicker than 1/8″
Match the alloy you’re welding to the appropriate rod:
- ER70S-2 – Mild steel and 4130 chrome moly tubing
- 4043 – Aluminum
- ER308L – Stainless steel
- Silicon Bronze – Brazing and joining dissimilar metals such as copper to steel
This TIG filler rod is designed for use with TIG welding machines that accept .045″ filler material and is a solid choice for precision and general fabrication work.
